Zoo trip...

We got home from St. Thomas late Wednesday night and I immediately decided we had to do something cool with Daxton that weekend since we missed him so much! We decided that since it was supposed to be nice on Saturday, we would go to the Zoo! It was pretty chilly when we first got there but turned out to not be so bad. We took the wagon Daxton got for Christmas and he loved it! He looked at a lot of the animals but he was more intrigued with finding sticks! He LOOOOVES sticks! He just wanted to pick them up and carry them all with him. He even picked up an entire piece of bamboo and played with it!

Club One trip!

So, Ty ended up being the 5th top salesman in the nation last year...so he became a "Club One" member. Not sure what all that entails other than we got a FREE trip out of it! LOL... we went to St. Thomas March 15-18! It was awesome! Our flights were all pretty much on time (minor delays of only like 20 minutes or so here and there) and the company paid for everything! They paid for us to Snuba, get massages, aifare, hotel, and even money for food and drinks while we were there...the entire trip only ended up costing us $30.00 to park our car at the airport! It was GREAT! The weather wasn't great the first two days, but the last two were awesome! We got to spend a lot of time in the sun, just relaxing by the pool. We met some cool people that we will hpefully get to see again next year too! Not sure where next year's trip is yet but Ty is on his way to getting to go to that one too! woohoo! Here are some pix of our Snuba trip, basically it's scuba diving without all the gear, you just have a mask and an air hose. We got to go 20 feet under! The water was freeeeezing at first but it was the coolest thing! I dove with my dad in St. Marten about 5 years ago and this was so much easier and enjoyable, not nearly as much work! So, we had a great time... here are a few pix!

Getting so big!!!

We had Daxton's 18 month pictures made last Saturday... I got the finished product today and my little man is so big!! He is actually 19 months old now (not 18) and he is a little monster, always into everything, a HUGE ball of non-stop energy, but a sweet one!!! My friend, Kathryn, is a photography major at OCU and she has been doing Daxton's pictures for me... I have decided she is officially MY photographer! haha. She does a great job and has tons of really creative ideas. Her website is www.katstreaterphotography.com if you are interested in having her do some pix for you! Okay, enough jabbering, here are the pix!

Sunday Fun Day!

So, yesterday was my oldest nephew's birthday. Blake turned 13! WOW! Since his birthday is one week after mine, we always do our family dinner thing together. This year we decided to go to Incredible Pizza! I was super excited to let Daxton play on all the little kid rides. Ty and I left early to stop by Wal-Mart and hopefully get Daxton a nap in the car on the way since he refused to sleep at home. While we were at Wal-Mart we ran into one of Ty's friends who decided to tell us that the food at Incredible Pizza is horrible and that the place itself is disgusting... nice! We go ahead and decide to stick with the plan and we head towards Incredible Pizza! We get there and the place is PACKED, which must mean that the food and everything isn't so bad after all, right?! So we go in and try to find a place for all 11 of us to sit, which was NOT easy! We get everyone situated, eat (way too much by the way) and then have some of Blake's birthday cake, then it's off to play! They had a small kids area for Daxton so we got a little card with $10.00 on it for him to ride some rides. Turns out the rides were only about .50 cents each, so $10.00 was a little much, but Daxton had a blast and he got to ride all of the rides several times! His favorite was the airplane! I'll post a few pix below!

ER Visit...

So, most of you know that Ty coaches my nephew's little league basketball team with my brother, nine and ten year olds.  They practice every Tuesday and Thursday night and they have games on Saturdays.  Well, this past Thursday was their last practice.  I had gotten Daxton laid down (though he wasn't asleep yet) and I was just sitting down to do some homework when my phone rings.  It was my brother and he said "you need to get dressed."  I told him I was dressed, I don't usually just sit around the house naked! HA!  He said, "well, Ty broke his finger."  Okay, so this is where my mind starts going 100 mph.  First I think, okay he's joking....because that is TOTALLY something my brother would do to me.  Then I think, well it might be hurt but Ty might be over-reacting, because that's something Ty would do.  Then I remembered when my brother broke 3 of his fingers (also playing basketball) when we were younger and how they were all smashed and crooked and DEFINITELY broken.  So I said, "you mean broken like yours were broken?"  And he said yes!  So, I immediately hang up and call my mom, who didn't answer! AAHHHHH!!!  So I call my dad, he answers and tells me my mom is still at work!  At 7:30 at night??  What's up with that?  No time to talk about it, I asked him to please come over and sit with Daxton while I take Ty to the hospital.  So, my dad shows up before Ty even gets home, GO DAD!  In the mean time, I am on our insurance website trying to see if there are any minor emergency clinics open near us.  There weren't and after Ty got home and I saw his finger, I immediately realized minor emergency wouldn't cut it... we were going to the ER!  So, we hop in the car and off we go to Norman Regional.  We get stuck in traffic for 30 minutes between the Main Street and Robinson exits on I-35, those of you that are familiar with Norman know that this is only ONE MILE!!!  So we sit, twiddling our thumbs (no pun intended) while we wait out the traffic!  During this time Ty and I are talking about the fact that we are going on vacation to St. Thomas in 3 weeks, and what the heck are we supposed to do if they put his hand in a cast or something?  So, we finally get to the ER and they get us in surprisingly fast.  The ER doctor comes in and says they are going to take x-rays but he is pretty sure it's dislocated.  So, I ask him, what do we do?  Will he have to be in a cast or anything?  Dr. says no, that he will just numb it and pull it back into place and send us on our way. WOW!  So, they did x-rays to be sure it wasn't broken, turns out it wasn't, they give him 2 shots in the finger, pull it back into place, do a few more x-rays and off we go!  WHEW!  No cast, no broken bones, no follow up dr. appointments and no worries for vacation!  Another weekend is over....

Sick little monster

So everyday I text Brandy a few times (or a few hundred) to see how Daxton is doing. Yesterday she told me he was being a little monster and was into everything, not listening when she told him "no."...typical 18 month old boy stuff I guess. She also said that he didn't seem too interested in eating lunch so he had just kind of been snacking on some string cheese and yogurt. Well, at about 4:15 she calls me to tell me that he just threw up everywhere! So, I tie up some things at work and head home to get him thinking to myself "please don't let him have a stomach bug....none of us can afford to be sick right now." So I get there to pick him up and he's running around the house in his diaper (because his clothes are in the washer). He is acting perfectly normal and Brandy tells me that he has been happy and playing every since he threw up! Crazy! He didn't eat much dinner and he was kind of clingy and whiney, which isn't totally abnormal evening behavior for him. So I gave him a bath, we read some books and he went to bed. At about 10:00 he woke up screaming and cranky and obviously MAD about something. He didn't want to be held, didn't want to be put down, didn't want a drink, wouldn't take any medicine....nothing was making him happy! So, finally at 11:00 he let me rock him for a few minutes and then I tried very slowly to lay him down...didn't work, he went to screaming again! But, I ran out of the room and within less than 30 seconds he was asleep. Poor little guy, who knows what's going on with him this time! Teeth maybe??? He is cutting his first molars, and has been for a while. That could definitely have something to do with the 10:00 scream fest, not sure about the throwing up though. Hopefully today and tonight go a little smoother for him, and for Ty and I!

Valentine's Day and Birthday weekend!

So Saturday was Valentine's Day and Sunday was my birthday!  Ty made reservations for us to do the dinner and movie thing in the balcony seats at the Warren.  He bought the tickets on Wednesday, and all he told me was that it was a "chick flick." I knew that Confessions of a Shop-a-holic was coming out and I just assumed that's what it was.... so we leave for the movie on Saturday, we get in and they take us to our seats, we order our food, the previews go by and the movie starts and all of the sudden the title pops up and says "He's Just Not That Into You."  So I think to myself, wait a second, this isn't the movie we're supposed to be at!  I pull out our ticket stubs, use that little miniature flash light thingy that's attached to the table, and I realize we are in fact at the right movie.... When Ty told me it was a girly movie (yeah those were his words), I just assumed what movie it was and never thought to actually ask him the name of it! Go figure! But, it was good and I had been wanting to see it so it worked out!

When we dropped Daxton off with my mom before the movie, she was acting like she had something to do when we got back and she kept asking when we thought we would be home, and she kept telling me to call her when we were on our way... it was really starting to make me mad!  After all, she knew what time our movie was, she said she was fine with watching Daxton while we went, so why the push to get home so soon?!  Well, we get back to my parents house to pick Daxton up and I see my brother's truck in the driveway.  We go in and all the kids yell "SURPRISE!" at me.  Come to find out my mom wanted to know exactly when I thought I would be home and she wanted me to call so she could have my brother and Brandy and the kids come over to meet us for cake and to give me my birthday presents!  My mom had gone to Cold Stone and gotten me an ice cream cake and it was AWESOME!  So, we all had ice cream cake, hung out for a bit, and then I came home to put Daxton to bed!

The next day (Sunday) was my birthday and we really didn't have any plans, other than I had told Ty that I wanted to skip church and I wanted him to get up with Daxton and let me sleep in for as long as I wanted! :)  He did, but I still only made it until 8:00!  I just can't seem to sleep in like I used to, another perk of motherhood! :)  Plus, Ty woke me up two separate times with breakfast in bed, LOL!  First time was a waffle, then I guess he also decided to make blueberry muffins, so he woke me up with two of those about 30 minutes after the waffles...so, I had two separate breakfasts in bed that morning!  Both were good though!  Ty tried his hardest to keep Daxton away from the bedroom and to keep him quiet but Daxton decided it was time for Mommy to wake up!  So, finally at 8:00 I gave in and got up!  Still more sleep than I usually get though!

Ty's parents called and asked us to meet them for lunch at Texas Roadhouse for my birthday.  So we got Daxton a little nap before we left and headed out to have lunch!  After we got done we headed to the mall to do a little birthday shopping!  I am needing clothes for our trip next month, so I decided now was a perfect time!  I got a dress to wear to the welcome dinner the first night of the trip, a couple of shirts, some CUTE flip flops and a pair of pants!  Not too shabby of a birthday!  The night before, Brandy gave me an Ed Hardy window visor thingy for my car, my parents gave me a little skirt from VS to wear over my swimsuit and a cute little PINK bag to take down to the pool, along with some money to shop with! Sheila got me a super cute dress from Bebe too and Ty got me a really nice Bible with my name on it.  I had told him a while back that I wanted a new one with my name on it and he picked the perfect one!  It's really nice!

And, to top of the V-Day/B-Day weekend, my boss called and said our office is closed today for President's Day! We normally don't close on these types of holiday's so this was a surprise!  So, thanks to Fridays off and Monday being a holiday, I got a 4 day long birthday weekend!  Now, if I can just get Daxton to take a nap so I can catch a little nap too!
